As part of the thrust that is a brand new DAE, DAE Group, the ultimate construction owner’s reps, are delighted to be working on the new Brickhouse at Lamar Station market rate apartments in Lakewood, Colorado.
The project is a new 293-unit apartment building with amenity space. It is a four-story wood framed building on a 3.75 acre site with a 301 car parking garage. Project value is $55 million construction with a completion date late 4th quarter 2020.
“In addition to our usual owner’s rep services we are taking over the abatement, utilities and demolition of the site. The site consists of 4 existing homes, various garages and sheds,” said Chuck Nunley, DAE Group Project Manager. “It is cheaper for the owner to have us do this part of the project and get the site ready for the GC.”
The work included coordinating the pricing for abatement, utilities coordination and demolition, getting everything to contract and then working with the various utilities – Xcel, Comcast, Century Link, separate water and sewer entities – to coordinate and cooperate with each other.
“There is even a gulch we are dealing with that has shared ownership and requires Army Corps of Engineer approval,” said Chuck. “It’s all in a days work. Bring it on. Our job is to get through abatement, demo it, clear and grub it and turn it over to the GC without one minute’s delay. The houses have been abated and demolished and the site is clear for construction with the exception of the power lines along W. 13th Ave. The power lines are to be removed the middle of next month per Xcel. Right on schedule.”
